Motive Spooling & Inspection expands into North America
A leading North-east offshore services firm has opened its first North American office to meet growing demand from clients in the region.
Aberdeen-headquartered Motive Spooling & Inspection is a division of the Motive Offshore Group, which provides high quality marine products to the oil and gas, subsea, decommissioning and renewable sectors.
Motive Spooling and Inspection LLC will operate across the US, the Gulf of Mexico and Canada, forming a key part of the firm’s overall global expansion strategy. It follows a successful 2017 that saw Motive turn over in excess of £10m GBP across the group.
The US division will be led by Ally Forbes, director of Spooling and Inspection, with Patrick Porciello appointed as regional manager to oversee operations in Houston. They bring with them over 25 years expertise in the oil and gas, marine and engineering fields.
Ally Forbes, director at Motive Spooling and Inspection said: “Establishing our Houston base demonstrates our commitment to US clients and will allow us to engage directly with the market.
“The positive atmosphere at OTC last month suggests that confidence is starting to return to the oil industry, and this, coupled with a full order book, means it is an ideal time to open our Houston base.
“Having people and equipment on the ground saves on transportation and mobilisation costs ensuring we can be competitive, flexible and responsive, while delivering reliable, high quality equipment and services supported by a team of experienced technicians.”
Patrick Porciello added: “The Gulf of Mexico (GoM) has been waiting for an inspection company that focuses on wire rope spooling and inspection and customers are genuinely excited about Motive Spooling and Inspection LLC coming into the market.”
Motive Offshore Group has a skilled workforce of 80 employees across its marine equipment, manufacture and rental, spooling and fabrication divisions.
