Modular cabin specialist doubles turnover
An Aberdeen industry services business has experienced significant growth with the completion of a number of large-scale projects over the past twelve months.
Greenwell Equipment (Greenwell), which is headquartered in Aberdeen’s Greenbank Road, has seen turnover for its CTX Containex modular building division double in comparison to 2017.
The company, launched in 1996, supplies modular buildings, containers, warehouse racking and office furniture. The latest figures secures Greenwell’s position as Scotland’s largest supplier and principle trading partner of worldwide cabin manufacturer CTX Containex.
The family firm, which has 16 employees, has supplied more than 500 modular buildings to several large Scottish infrastructure projects including the Queensferry Crossing joint venture and the AWPR consortium.
Scott Brown, sales director for Greenwell, said: “We have built a respected cabin division and we have supplied units to some of the biggest infrastructure projects across the UK. The modular cabins are of a very high specification, which can be built up to three storeys high and assembled quickly according to individual specific requirements.
“With our diversity in industries we have experienced a successful year including two significant orders totaling a six-figure sum for modular buildings by local companies ESD and Raptor Oil.
“These latest substantial orders are a testament to Greenwell’s growing reputation and ability to provide a top-quality product, quickly, economically and readily available across Scotland. We are seeing positive signs of recovery in the industry, especially from businesses in the north-east which is promising.”
Greenwell successfully installed a 20m x 15m single-storey modular cabin for Binn Group, the largest independent waste and recycling company in Scotland. The project included fully fitted-out offices and welfare facilities at Binn Group’s site at Glenfarg, Perthshire.
Les Downie, facility manager, for Binn Group said: “From initial consultation, to on-site construction this project has been seamless for the Binn staff due to the expertise of the Greenwell team.
“Initially, our plans were to upgrade and replace the existing cabins with six new ones. However, on planning the design we realised that we required further cabins to meet our needs. With the furniture also being provided by Greenwell, we are thoroughly enjoying the high specification of our new offices.
“We received a first-class service from Greenwell and the whole team is a pleasure to work with and are extremely professional. We are overwhelmed with the end result.”
Michael Reuter, area sales manager for Containex said: “I have been working with Scott and the team at Greenwell for 18 years and their diverse range of clients in different industries has proved a huge success for the Containex partnership. We work extremely well together to deliver bespoke projects for Greenwell’s clients and they are dedicated to ensuring their team has a strong knowledge of our product which is a huge benefit to their clients. Greenwell’s investment in sending staff to train at our factory in Austria results in a team that has the right vision and expertise to deliver an excellent end product and that’s why they are our biggest Scottish client.”
Greenwell has already been appointed as the preferred supplier of modular cabins for a number of projects for 2019 with predictions that the Containex division of the business will increase by a further 25% in 2019.
