Food for thought at The Green Grocer’s open day
Flavours from across the North-east will be on the menu at a local specialist food store as it welcomes the public to its open day this weekend.
Inverurie-based family-run business, The Green Grocer, will be offering people the opportunity to sample the best quality produce that the region has to offer during its open day taking place on Saturday, 5 August, from 10am to 4pm.
The Green Grocer, which has been run by the Sorrie family since 2012, stocks a range of speciality foods from local suppliers including gluten and dairy-free produce, seasonal fruit and veg, and deli products.
The business also supplies customers with vegetable boxes, which are packed in-store using fresh, local produce on a daily basis, and delivered across the North-east.
The shop’s open day will see visitors being treated to a selection of samples from a number of local businesses, including Ola Oils, Westfield Spelt, Kincardine Kitchen, Fine Piece, Campus O’May, Devenick Dairy, Fudge Like, Braes O’Gowrie, and Barra Berries.
Activities during the event include a kids’ treasure hunt, whilst customers will be offered a 10% discount on the day, and those who spend over £10 will be automatically entered into a competition to win a hamper full of produce from The Greengrocer.
John Sorrie, owner of the Green Grocer, said: “Since establishing the business five years ago, customer service has been at the heart of everything we do. Holding the open day is a perfect way to thank people for their custom, giving them the chance to sample new products and meet members of the Green Grocer team.
“We also like to support local businesses, and hosting the open day is the ideal way to promote a diverse range of products from across the North-east.”
