Budding barbers offered the chance to prove they are a cut above
A luxury gents barber based in Aberdeen is offering people the chance to showcase their creative skills through an apprenticeship with the business.
Huntsman, which was launched in November 2016 by managing director Kyle Ross, is offering school leavers or anyone interested in a career change, the chance to work towards a SVQ Level 2 Diploma in Barbering.
The barbers, which is based between Union Street and Albyn Place, offers a wide range of services for the modern day man, including everything from precision cutting, hot towel shaving, beard trimming and styling, to massage treatments and waxing.
It also provides in-depth consultations to its customers, which allows them to decide on the cut and style that will best suit their face shape and hair type.
The business currently employs a team of five experienced and talented barbers, and the successful apprentice will gain hands-on experience within the busy shop.
They will follow in the footsteps of Marc Cran, 27, who made the move into barbering after being made redundant from two oil and gas companies within the space of six months. Last year, he completed a specialist six-month course at the Scottish Barbering School before securing a stylist position at Huntsman in April 2017.
Managing director of Huntsman, Kyle Ross, said: “It is certainly an exciting time for barbering, and I am keen employ someone who is as passionate about the industry as we are here at Huntsman.
“We are dedicated to providing a high-quality service to everyone that walks through the door, and provide our clients with the most up-to-date industry knowledge at all times.
“An apprenticeship is a fantastic way of gaining experience whilst getting paid to work. We look forward to educating the new member of the team about the craft of barbering and the importance of hair care.”
Anyone interested in applying for the apprenticeship should submit a CV and cover letter to enquiries@huntsman-aberdeen.com
